Sign up for talk/dinner with CEO of WWF - Carter Roberts

Dear ESBC and Energy club leaders,

Next Tuesday is the annual CvG lecture on the environment, and we have an opportunity for around 10 students to attend a roundtable with Carter Roberts before the event (4:15 – 5:00), as well as just 3 other students to attend a dinner with him after the event. Please let your club members know that if they are interested they should sign up on J:\Student Sharing\PMP and we’ll pick the students by lottery no later than Monday. Please note whether you would like to attend the roundtable or the dinner, or no preference.

Thanks,

Carter Roberts, President and CEO, World Wildlife Fund

This year’s Conradin von Gugelberg Lecture, entitled “Enlightened Self-Interest: Harnessing the Power of Markets to Save the Earth,” will take place on Tuesday, October 23 from 6:00 – 7:00 pm (reception to follow).

In the annual von Gugelberg Lecture, the leader of the world’s largest conservation organization and partner for leading corporations like Google, Coca-Cola and Wal-Mart, will discuss harnessing the market to fight climate change and resource exhaustion.   Through cutting-edge collaborations with corporations, local communities and other institutions, the World Wildlife Fund has created a model for engagement that leads to lasting change and sustainable growthRoberts will talk about how a new era of global threats has changed the way his organization, and nearly every important institution on earth, goes about addressing conservation. For corporations, Roberts argues, the lesson is clear: conservation is no longer a question of reputation – it is a question of long-term survival.

This event will sell out. You must register to ensure your seat. Click on http://www.gsb.stanford.edu/csi/programs/form_eventregistration2.html to register.
